Hello, my fellow readers!
I’m so happy to be typing again, sharing my experiences and my opinions. On Sunday, I went to explore Wall Street, but not in the way a tourist would explore it, but as a New Yorker. I saw a different side of Wall Street, not the business side, but the neighborhood itself, the architecture, and the beauty of nature. Surprisingly, there weren’t many people on the streets: you would expect thousands of tourists-it’s Manhattan, and a couple of hundreds of New Yorkers, yet, it was peaceful and calm. Doesn’t sound like Manhattan, right? The skyscrapers, especially, made me feel unusual because looking at them from the tiny, old streets of the 19th century Wall Street creates such a strong contrast between the architecture, the time periods, the centuries. Above all, I enjoyed every second of the day, as well as the weather.
New York felt different: It was even more charming and interesting, and comparing to the daily rush of people to work/school, this day felt slow and quiet.
In the same time, it feels like Spring (eh, finally!). I believe that many people were expecting spring to come faster because of the endless winter, which was lasting longer than usual. I finally felt the warmth and brightness of sun rays on my skin, or should I say on my coat? Even though I was wearing tights, I was still feeling the cheerful smells of spring in the air, watching people go by in jean/leather jackets, and light, floral skirts/dresses (“Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking.”).
Speaking of outfits, I wore a black coat from Aeropostale, a black & cream dress from Forever 21, tights from Hues, and knee-high boots from DKNY. To top it all off, I went with my favorite pair of sunglasses from Betsey Johnson, and a clutch from Aldo.
While wandering around Wall Street and Pier 17, I found a small square which pulled you in by reminding of that “fairytale” place. It was magical, and at some point mysterious, so I decided to walk in it, and take time to gain some inspiration.
Have you ever been to New York? Do you want to visit? I highly recommend to do so. My admiration for New York is inevitable.
