The Sophia Factor

The Sophia Factor

Hello my fellow readers,DSC_0603

As the end of the summer is peeking in, I’m getting mentally and physically prepared for the fall season. With all the preparations, I’m also receiving a ton of fall mood swings, which bring out my love for black and white photography.

If you follow me on Instagram (@fashion.caption), I recently gushed about a special project that will be coming up soon on the blog, and guess what? Here is that special project, which is my first official editorial for the blog.

In the past couple of days, I have been doing lots of thinking, analyzing, and reflecting about my blog and its content. If you have been reading my blog posts, you know I’m always striving for the best content I could bring to the table, especially when the table is already pretty much filled with all kinds of fashion bloggers. Yet, I do not wish to become another stereotype of a fashion blogger; I want to do something not many or not anyone has done before, and bring you a more creative content while still sticking to my passion-fashion.

With the recent thought process, an idea dropped in the little head of mine, and it stated: “Do my readers really know me?”  That question has been revolving around my brain in the past few days. I mean, of course, there is an “About” button at the top of the page, but do they really know me? With that question in mind, I decided to create something more than just the “About” page, and reintroduce myself in the most casual, sit-down-and-talk way possible.

My name is Sophia, and I’m a teenager who lives in New York City. I moved here 4 years ago from Ukraine. I love fashion and everything that revolves around it: architecture, art, history, various cultures and traditions that come with them, and photography. I speak 4 languages, two of them being my native languages: Ukrainian, Russian, English, and French. I love France and French culture. I’m not a big pizza fan yet, I’m an enormous sushi lover. I’m a die-hard fan of New York City, which is ironic because I said I love France. I love black and white photography. I want to become a fashion journalist. I’m in love with Frank Sinatra’s and Edith Piaf’s music. My style icons are Audrey Hepburn, Coco Chanel, and Iris Apfel. I’m a sucker for Old-Hollywood movies and jazz. I talk more than anyone else in the world yet, I express myself better when I write. I’m kind of obsessed with Instagram feeds. I like sitting on my fire escape stairs every evening. But most of all, I love writing for my blog while sitting on my fire escape stairs. I will forever aim to improve my vocabulary and read more of classic literature. I also love donating clothes (that is the reason for my closet being so empty this summer). But most of all, I love my blog. No matter what or how, it will forever be a vast part of me and who I am today. Yep, I think you just found out who Sophia is.

So, here I present to you, the series of the most candid, silly, and not-so-average-fashion-blogger photos in The Sophia Factor.
