Scarlet Starlet

Scarlet Starlet

Hello my fellow readers,

Today’s post is the very first post of a new era of Fashion Caption. Although this new era hasn’t brought any major changes just yet, plenty will be coming soon, and all there is to do is to stay tuned.

I have been thinking quite a lot about my blog these past few months, attempting to come up with more creative content, or add various details into my blog posts which will present a different, much more authentic side of Fashion Caption to you, my fellow readers.

One of the things that has been circulating my mind about is instead of simply showing you my looks, why not express their details, their movement, their mood? Looking at photographs presents the looks to viewers; videos, on the other hand, won’t just show an outfit, but they will also set a particular tone, which can be transferred to readers and viewers. Certainly, one might argue that photographs allow more room for individual interpretation of what is seen in a picture, however, videos allow not just more room for individual interpretation, but they also share the creator’s perspective with the individual behind the screen.

Therefore, after another meeting with my creative partner, Vanessa Flores, I have decided to establish a new subcategory for every “Lookbook” post there will be: videos. These short, one minute videos will transfer my tone and vision through music and camera angles, as well as filters, or the lack thereof, and of course, looks that I will be wearing.

I wanted today’s post, “Scarlet Starlet,” to be the first post to feature a video because this outfit expressed a different side of me that I don’t usually expose to the world. I often wear black and prefer to wear more masculine-inspired pieces, however, I always have a piece of me which tends to lean toward the gentle, feminine side. Scarlet Starlet is somehow a perfect depiction of both: the colors and the ruffles reflect the ladylike side of me, meanwhile, the hair, the makeup, and the accessories shine through and portray the opposite, much more typical side of me. Scarlet Starlet: what else can you say?
